A day at the river

Oh the wonders of WATER! I think it's every child's best friend in the warm weather, or maybe that's just me. I think it's my best friend in the warm weather. And I just can't think of summertime without thinking of the river and lakes. So, of course, that's what we spend a lot of our time doing. We drove out to the Palouse river where the kids spent hours digging in the sand and rocks and trying to transfer the river up onto the shore. And there are so many other great rivers around here I can't wait to go explore and find every one of them. Camille practicing her balance on the sloping shore.
She is such a little girl, even at the beach she's telling me look her hands are all covered with sand, "dirty, dirty."
